Do we know
how to behave in a synagogue, Hindu temple and mosque? What is the main thing
we need to observe in these temples?
Synagogue
➤Men should
wear a traditional Jewish men's hat to the synagogue. It's called a bale. In
many synagogues they are sold or given for temporary use.
➤Clothing
should be conservative. It is not customary in the synagogue to wear sleeveless
clothes - this rule applies to both women and men. Usually the women in the
synagogue are dressed in dresses and the men in costumes.
➤Pay attention to the entrance and the seats. Some synagogues have separate entrances and rooms for women and men. They also have separate seats. If you notice that men and women are in different rooms and enter through different entrances, follow this rule.
Do not take photos during Shabbat.
➤Shabbat begins at sunset on Friday night and ends on Saturday with the onset of darkness. During this time, photography in the synagogue is prohibited.
Do not stand with your back to the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem. Moving away, you have to face it. You can only turn when you are already a considerable distance away.
Hindu temples
➤The rules
of conduct in Hindu and Buddhist temples are similar. And it is not customary
to enter Hindu shrines with shoes, bare shoulders and legs.
➤It is not
accepted to take photos without permission, as well as the use of the left
hand.
➤There is
another rule: leather clothes and accessories are not worn in Hindu temples.
Therefore, it is best to take them off before entering the temple.
Mosque
➤Before
entering the mosque, you must undress, take off your hat and sunglasses.
➤Women
should cover their head with a towel or scarf.
➤Clothing
should be conservative. Your clothes should not offend the feelings of
believers. For women, legs and shoulders must be hidden under clothing. Men are
also not allowed to enter the mosque in shorts. Avoid bright colors and
tight-fitting clothes.
➤Pay attention to the signs next to the entrance. Some mosques have separate entrances for men and women. If you do not see a sign, but notice that women and men use different inputs, consider this.
Do not shoot during prayer. Photographs are usually allowed in the mosque, but not during prayer.
